Josep Renau Berenguer: social testimony and pedagogical project

Abstract

The timeliness of the work of Josep Renau, a republican intellectual, Director of Propaganda and responsible for the evacuation of the paintings from the Prado Museum during the war of 1936, who lived in exile in Mexico and in the Democratic Republic of Germany, has its best chance in a world that demands new strategies of representation of reality and diverse modalities of
communication. Through platforms, networks and their consequent devices, images monopolize as never before people's desire for projection in visual semiotic systems, agitated by compulsion and the need to be consumed urgently. This intellectual poster artist, muralist and photo editor proposes in several political contexts an interdisciplinar figurative reality and a pedagogical way of teaching and learning spanish Culture.
