Abstract
The objective of this study is to highlight the importance of integrating translation in the Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) classroom as a means through which students learn a set of linguistic and communication skills, and as a tool to facilitate the process of foreign language acquisition. Through this research, our first aim is to shed light on the concept of pedagogical
translation (translation for didactic purposes), its key characteristics, and its role in foreign language teaching. Secondly, we emphasize its functions and significance as a teaching method to enhance Spanish proficiency among Moroccan students. Lastly, we underscore some benefits of using translation judiciously as a didactic resource in the classroom.
