Abstract
This work emphasizes the new procedure that the Argentine writer César Aira explores to make his novels. After the plausible efforts of the avant-garde in their attempt to modernize and innovate art, Aira seeks to establish a method of creating a personal procedure through experimentation. Aira insists that the essential thing is the method and not the novel. The novel El mármol starts from the same concept and is built from within in an unpredictable way. All elements of the story are guided and controlled like puppets by the force majeure of random. Airana writing vacillates between the plausible and the fantastic.
