Teaching and learning of nineteenth-century Spanish writing. The need for a vocabulary

Abstract

A research that does not clearly contemplate the vocabulary that configures it, ends up not being solidly forged. In the absence of a catalogue of specific vocabulary from the nineteenth century that can clarify the knowledge necessary to understand Spanish written culture in that period (writing methods, learning and work instruments, practice, writing models, specific terminology and related terms), its elaboration can create a systematic access route that allows giving meaning to words for any researcher in this field. Thus, we reduce the problems generated in the study of past eras by an inadequate knowledge of the specific vocabulary and the relationships established between the set of expressions, and we collaborate with those who work on the material history of our written culture, creating a compendium of existing knowledge that allows us to distinguish each word without error, as precise elements necessary in scientific work.
