The maintenance of the language as an aim of The Judeo-Spanish journals

Abstract

The article describes the status of Judeo-Spanish or Ladino, considered an endangered language. Since the 19^th century, and moreover nowadays, efforts are being made to preserve it. One of the means for this goal is publishing journals in Judeo-Spanish, both as a way of communication and language revitalization. After a short description of the language and the problems observed over time in relation to it, I will present some journals published in Ladino since the 19^th century and to this day. A few excerpts from these journals will be used to prove its relation with the maintenance of the language
