Reflections on the work of José Manuel Crespo: unknown or forgotten author?

Abstract

In Latin American literature there are authors who have left their mark and among them is the Colombian writer José Manuel Crespo who shows in his texts a great quality in his writing style and the contribution of an unparalleled number of national and world cultural knowledge. The lack of knowledge of his works, despite being a winner of national poetry awards and standing out in narrative, leads to questioning the situation that many authors are experiencing. The main objective of this article is to reflect on some of the characteristics of the author's narrative work and the various contributions offered by his varied literary texts. Using a qualitative methodology, the most outstanding elements of his work are highlighted in detail for any reader. It concludes on the importance of disseminating and republishing his literary work so that it is known more widely.
