Abstract
A semantic field contains words and expressions that share a certain scope. The list of related words or co-hyponyms is announced with a hyperonym, which can be a phrase. We can
thus form the semantic field of flowers, food, the human body, music. This article concentrates on the presentation of the principles that serve to logically place the words of a semantic field. The first
section shows how to select and arrange nouns, adjectives and verbs with a few examples. The second section shows the structure of semantic categorisation. It is interesting to design the different word families from the stem to the most distant meanings. The third one aims to inform about how the words are placed so that the user can interpret their meanings. And the fourth presents, by way of example, the semantic field of Romance languages with the classification of some 165 glottonyms. The aim is to organise the words and expressions so that they are arranged in such a way as to allow the meaning of each one to be interpreted, conditioned by neighbouring words.
